I paid her $85 in cash (I added a $10 bonus for the quick turnaround time), delivered the document on disk to the pharmacist, and collected the balance of the fee, $60.

I charged the pharmacist $120 for a freelance job and he was happy to pay it. I subbed it out for $85 and the work-at-home mom was happy to get the work. I kept the difference of $35 just for coordinating the deal. This is nothing more than the foundational precept of business in action: buy low, sell high. Now, $35 isn’t a lot of money, but how many freelance matchmaker deals do you need before you start piling up some serious income? I’ll leave the answer to you.
